Tie the Knot for Breast Cancer!

I’m so happy to be volunteering to promote the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s Tie the Knot program at this Sunday’s Bridal Swap.  If you’re at the Swap, I’ll be at the CBCF booth all morning.  Stop by and say hi!

If you don’t know about the Tie the Knot program, it’s a fabulous way to include a meaningful charity donation in your wedding day.  Here are the details:

A CELEBRATION OF LOVE…A CELEBRATION OF LIFE!

Your wedding day is a special time for you and your partner - a time to share your hopes and dreams with your guests and with one another. Make your wedding day even more meaningful by participating in the Foundation’s Tie the Knot for Breast Cancer program. Through this program, you and your guests can support the Foundation in several simple ways:

• WEDDING FAVOURS – Instead of table gifts to thank guests for sharing your special day, consider making a donation to the Foundation instead.
• KISS FOR THE CAUSE – At weddings, it’s tradition for guests to clink their glasses to initiate the first kisses of the newlyweds. Start a new tradition by asking your guests to make a donation to the Foundation to get you to pucker up!
• WEDDING/SHOWER GIFTS – Your guests can give a gift that makes a difference by making a donation to the Foundation. The Foundation will advise you by mail of all donations made in your name(s).

To help make your day a success, the Foundation is pleased to provide registered couples with donation cards, pink ribbons, and templates for place cards and a certificate of appreciation to customize and display at your wedding reception.

We put our candy jars to excellent use this week.  They were way fuller a few days ago, though… I had to get the camera out before the candy was just a distant memory!

Lately, I’ve been eating a heck of a lot of citrus fruits.  You know what they say, art mimics life… et voilà!

I adore this colour scheme–fresh, crisp, bright and cheerful.  What do you think?

Have you heard about Bridal Swap?

If you’re like me and you love a bargain, you’ll probably want to check out Bridal Swap at Heritage Hall on Sunday, February 20th.  Already-wed couples will be on hand, selling their gently used wedding decor items, accessories, clothing, and so on.  Not only can you save a bit of cash, but by re-using these items you’ll cut back on your wedding’s waste-factor.  Awesome!  You’ll also get a chance to meet some local vendors, chat with couples who have been in your shoes planning-wise–and who knows, maybe even try on their shoes  What, no?
